This Romanesque Revival building, the oldest on campus, opened in 1894 as KU’s library. It became the art museum in the 1920s, then home to anthropological collections in 1984. It now houses a commons for exhibits and symposia presented by the Hall Center and the Biodiversity Institute. It was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
