In 1943, this partly completed building was used as a barracks for military trainees. After World War II, it reverted to its original purpose as the mineral sciences building. The hall is named for Ernest Lindley, seventh chancellor, and houses geology and geography, faculty and staff offices, classrooms, and the Paleontological Institute.
