Budig Hall

Built in 1927 as Hoch Auditorium, this hall was used for theatre, concerts, speakers, classes, and, until Allen Fieldhouse opened in 1955, basketball. A lightning-sparked fire gutted Hoch in 1991, and it reopened after renovation in 1997. It was renamed for KU's 14th chancellor, Gene Budig, but the high-tech lecture halls inside retain the Hoch name.
